The latest draw released by Manitoba has sent invites or Letter of Advice to apply (LAA) to 242 Express Entry candidates to apply Canada PR through the province’s provincial nominee program. In a gap of two weeks, the province has released two draws consecutively.
The invitations, or Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) were segregated to candidates from three provincial streams stated below:
A total of 15 LAA’s went to Express Entry candidates out of all the 242 invites.
Express Entry is the main source of filling in the labor markets gaps and the best way to obtain the Canadian PR status. The Express Entry system handles applications for three immigration programs: namely Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and Canadian Experience Class. Once a candidate gets eligible under any one of these programs then they are awarded a CRS score calculated the basis of clients personal details like age, work experience, education, language proficiency etc.. High scoring candidates who are able to match the cut offs are then issued invitations to apply their dream of Canada PR through regular Express Entry draws.
The lucky 15 Express Entry candidates who have been selected and awarded LAA’s by Manitoba by default adds on 600 extra points towards the CRS scores of an individual ensuring a sure shot ITA in the upcoming Express Entry draw. In case Express Entry applicants are to be considered for MPNP in that case they must possess eligible work experience in any of the professions from the in-demand occupation list of the province.
Candidates applying for Provincial Nomination through Skilled Workers in Manitoba and Skilled Workers Overseas categories need to register a specially tailored EOI with the MPNP. An EOI is an online profile where applicants are ranked out of 1,000 points on the basis of education, work experience, connections to Manitoba and language proficiency. The MPNP chooses a set number of candidates to issue a LAA. Once invited, candidates can apply for a provincial nomination from Manitoba.

Skilled Worker Overseas Category allows the province of Manitoba to choose and appoint skilled foreign workers eligibly filling in the gap in the Labor Market of the province. To be eligible under this category applicants must establish strong connections such as close family or friends in the Province, previous education or work experience in the province or an invitation through Manitoba’s Strategic Recruitment Initiative. They do not need to be in Manitoba at the time of application in order to qualify.
All the lucky 27 candidates who received a LAA through the Skilled Workers Overseas Stream were from the Strategic Recruitment Initiative.
Candidates invited through the Skilled Workers in Manitoba Category must be presently working in Manitoba on full time basis having a permanent job offer from their employer.
