Invitations issued to Express Entry Candidates under Ontario’s Human Capital Priorities Stream

185 invitations issued to candidates applying under popular Express Entry-linked Human capital Priorities stream in the draw held on 26th November, 2018. This stream allows the province of Ontario to search suitable candidates from the Federal Skilled Express Entry Pool and send them invites to apply for Canada PR through OINP. In total Human Capital Priorities Stream has issued 3,719 invitations in the year 2018. Applications in response to invitations received in this OINP draw will be considered under the 2019 nomination allocation.
Candidates who receive an Invitation to apply from Ontario are granted an extra 600 points towards their CRS score in the express entry pool, which ensures a candidates ITA directly from IRCC. CRS score decides their position in the Express Entry pool for three federal economic immigration categories — the Federal Skilled Worker Class, the Federal Skilled Trades Class and the Canadian Experience Class.
Express Entry candidates without a job offer with the CRS Score ranging from 350 to 448 were selected in the draw released on 26th November, 2018 for the Human Capital Priorities Stream. Candidates who have submitted their profiles between January 1, 2018, and November 22, 2018 can be selected. OINP’s search was majorly to help Ontario meet its labor market and economic development priorities, as well as to be more responsive to employer needs.
September turned out to be a crucial month when the rule that ITA will be granted only to Express Entry candidates with a CRS score of at least 400 or above was replaced by the rule that the minimum score would be determined by the program’s director according to the province’s needs for the Human Capital Priorities Stream.
The OINP believes on three Express Entry-linked streams:
- The Human Capital Priorities Stream
- The French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream
- The Skilled Trades Stream
Human Capital Priorities Stream accounted 3,719 invitations this year, followed by at 1,519 invitations to French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream and 1,626 invitations to Skilled Trades Stream. Collectively, these three streams account 95% of Ontario’s nomination under Canada’s Provincial Nominee Program for 2018.
